Who this is for

Considering the call.
Preparing to begin.

You may be exploring whether California is your next step, or already preparing to plant here. We’d love to hear where you are in the journey.

Our shared purpose is to help people know and follow Jesus through new local churches. An initial conversation is a place to discuss your ministry experience, beliefs, relationships, and hopes for the community you want to serve.

What support can look like

You bring a calling.
We help connect the support.

Support is shaped around the planter and the relationships involved. Partner organizations guide their own processes and requirements.

01

Personal connection.

Conversations, relationships, and opportunities to explore California help you consider your next step.

02

Ministry partners.

Connections with churches and organizations offering assessment, training, coaching, encouragement, and practical support.

03

Startup funding.

Each church plant we support receives a $25,000 startup grant for launch expenses. Reaching out begins a conversation; it does not guarantee funding.

Where to begin

One conversation
can clarify a lot.

These are the questions we can explore together.

  1. Tell us your story.

Where are you serving, what draws you to California, and what are you discerning?

  2. Explore the relationships.

What support do you already have? Which connections, preparation, and partner requirements could shape your next step?

  3. Discuss a path forward.

Talk through readiness, timing, launch needs, and whether Plant California’s support is a fit.

Before you reach out

Your questions
are welcome.

Do I have to know where I want to plant?

No. You can start by sharing what draws you to California and the communities you’re considering.

Who provides assessment, training, and coaching?

Our ministry partners offer those services and guide their own requirements. Plant California helps make connections and provides startup funding for church plants we support.

Does the grant cover every cost of planting?

No. The $25,000 startup grant supports launch expenses for church plants we support. A conversation can help clarify your broader needs and the role of other partners and financial supporters.

What beliefs or affiliations are required?

Start by sharing your beliefs, ministry background, and sending relationships. We’ll discuss alignment with Plant California and the requirements of any potential ministry partners before moving forward.

Can I reach out while I’m still discerning?

Yes. You don’t need to be certain or have a finished launch plan. Bring your questions.
